MCKINNEY, TX-McKinneyUpdate.com reports that preliminary work on the Collin College Higher Education Center at Bridge Street has begun. The campus is fronting Spur 399 near U.S. Highway 75, and will contain the college's administrative staff and a parking garage.
Meanwhile, O&S Holdings, developer of the 221-room McKinney Westin Hotel, might have a shot at funding to complete the project it started about a year ago. McKinney City Manager Frank Ragan said at a February 21 city council meeting that the Dallas developer could find the needed financing, well in excess of $16 million, to get the hotel portion completed. Ragan said the retail portion was off the table right now, however.
